It's an archive of (apparently) authentic smart alecky notes, a large portion of which were between coworkers. I love smirky, passive-aggressive correspondence like what's found on this site. They're the kinds of notes I usually write to people when I am annoyed with them, but too cowardly to say so openly.

During college, I worked the midnight shift at a Speedway station for a few months, and I would often leave sarcastic little notes to the customers. Like, this one time, I taped a note to the register that said, "Thanks for not being a rude jerk! Have a nice day!!!" I also took a page from Clerks, and placed a "We thank you for not shoplifting" sign on the counter. Of course, what I REALLY wanted to write was probably more along the lines of, "I haven't seen the sun in five weeks, and I hate all of you people."

Some years later, when I was living in a crappy little apartment in the tiny town of Bad Axe, Michigan, I would mess with my landlady by leaving wordy, overly polite complaint notes all over. Since I used to sleep the whole day back then, I would become quite annoyed when someone tried to make me get out of bed any time before noon. Well, one time, the landlady, who was trying to sell the building, called to tell me that she was showing the place to some prospective buyers the next day at nine in the AM, and I was expected to clear out of there while the tour was taking place. I fumed about it all day, and finally taped a note to the door of my apartment that night, reading "Tenant works late in order to earn money so that the RENT gets paid on time (and it always is!). Thank you for not disturbing his slumber!!!" I also did not get out of bed the next morning when I heard the landlady and her potential buyers banging on the door. They eventually went away, and I've always wondered if my behavior helped to screw up the intended sale....
Anyway, I like passive-aggressive notes, and this site is full of them. Enjoy!

That's Passive Aggressive Notes.com .
